CNN.com: Bikers roll to military funerals to oppose anti-gay protests

Fred Phelps, fundamentalist minister, and his believers are protesting military funerals due to - get this - homosexuality in the United States.

"Phelps believes American deaths in Iraq are divine punishment for a country that he says harbors homosexuals. His protesters carry signs thanking God for so-called IEDs -- explosives that are a major killer of soldiers in Iraq."

Phelps, and his 'clan', don't understand the words "grace" and "forgiveness". All they do is show hatred and give Christians a bad name.

Praise to the Patriot Guard Riders who show the true spirit of our country and the respect they give to our soldiers fighting for freedom.

Movie Plug: The Second Chance

I saw the two minute trailer with my wife and we were both in tears.

My question is: How many of you deep-hearted Christians, lay leaders, and ministers are going to see this movie and be moved by it? I don't just mean moved to tears...oh no. I mean MOVED by it! Moved by the Spirit to do something instead of wagging a finger or shaking your bobble-head.

Want to make an impact? Get your hands dirty and show Christ's love in the community.

It is so easy to become a member of country-club church. Just put some money in the basket, say a prayer, and all will be well. Heck, most of you have been living like that most of your God given lives. You belive someone else should be the servant; someone else can be the missionary.

Our culture is still a suit wearin', drive the best car, stock market, consumer driven culture. It's been that way now for over 50 years! Nothing's really changed. IPOD's? They were first the portable tape players back in the early 80's. Everyone had to have one. They came large or small; with or without radios; different headphones for different ears. You name it, everyone had to have one.

Get over it.

While many of you are contemplating overseas missions, contemplate this: As I am writing this, there are children in the United States who are going to bed hungry. There are the homeless. There are the poor. There are the foresaken. These are GOD's people.

You get the picture.

Watch the movie.
Get dirty.
Show Christ's love.

According to the report, Governor Kathleen Blanco and Mayor Ray Nagin waited until too late to evacuate the city. They had warnings 56 hours before landfall of what might happen, yet chose to wait until 19 hours before the hurricane hit to tell everybody to get out. So who deserves most of the blame?Blanco and Nagin.

Why?

First of all, because disaster response has traditionally been a state, not a federal matter. In 2004 there were about four hurricanes that hit Florida. Florida responded. That is as it should have been in Louisiana. Question: Did the failure to move trailers into the area immediately cause deaths? No. Did the failure to get food and supplies into the survivors within hours cause deaths? There's no evidence of that. The deaths were caused because people didn't get out. That's a local issue, not a federal one. Had the governor and mayor ordered the evacuation much earlier, many more people would have lived. Did anyone die because it took supplies longer to get there than it should have? Maybe a few. But nothing like the more than 1,300 people who are dead...mostly because they didn't leave the city.The media and the Democrats will push the lie that it was George Bush's fault that all those people died...but make no mistake, The lion's share of the blame rests on local politicians. That would be Blanco and Nagin.

Pointing the finger doesn't solve the problem. Sure, everyone's to blame. The real issue is what Ray Nagin, Kathleen Blanco, the politicians of Louisiana, and the Federal Government are going to do when a Category 5 or higher hurricane hits New Orleans again. Yes, again.

I've got a very bad feeling about all of this.
